HOW DO I TAKE CARE OF MY ATIKA JEWELS?
Taking care of your jewelry is a way of prolonging its story.
Each Atika piece is crafted to accompany you for years, but over time, exposure and daily wear can affect its natural shine.
Here are a few simple tips to help you keep your jewelry looking as beautiful as the day you got it.
PRESERVING THE SHINE
All our pieces are made from 925 sterling silver and receive a final treatment that enhances their shine and durability.
Still, it’s important to keep in mind:
Exposure to air or water can accelerate the natural oxidation of silver.
Avoid showering, sleeping, or working out with your jewelry on.
Contact with perfume, creams, chlorine, or other chemicals may alter the color or finish.
If you notice that your jewelry has lost a bit of shine, don’t worry, with proper cleaning, it can easily be restored to its original look.
Cleaning your jewelry
To keep your jewelry looking bright, we recommend cleaning it regularly with a silver cleaning solution, available in most supermarkets or jewelry stores.
You can also use special polishing cloths pre-treated with cleaner, they’re ideal for gently polishing without scratching the surface.
Either option will bring back your jewelry’s original brilliance, as long as you rinse the product well with water and dry the piece completely afterwards.
If you prefer a more natural method, mix lukewarm water with mild soap and use a soft-bristle toothbrush to remove any dirt.
💛 Important: gold-plated pieces require extra care. Avoid silver cleaning products (as they can damage the plating) and clean them only with lukewarm water, mild soap, and a very soft cloth, without rubbing too har
STORING YOUR JEWELRY
Keep your jewelry away from humidity and direct sunlight.
The best way to store them is inside your Atika velvet pouch or in a padded jewelry box.
Avoid wooden cases or metal containers, as they can speed up tarnishing.
If you own multiple pieces, store them separately to prevent scratches.
IMPORTANT NOTE
Gold-plated pieces are more delicate than solid silver ones.
With time and wear, the color may gradually fade, especially if the jewelry often comes into contact with perfumes or creams.
This fading is not a defect, but a natural process of the material.
To help maintain the golden tone for longer, we recommend handling these pieces with special care and keeping them dry at all times.
Every Atika jewel tells a story.
Taking care of it is a way of prolonging it and making it yours.
