HOW DO I TAKE CARE OF MY ATIKA JEWELS?
Caring for your jewelry is the best way to preserve its story. Every Atika piece is made to accompany you for years, but time, wear and exposure to the elements can affect its natural shine. Here are a few simple recommendations to help keep your pieces looking as beautiful as the first day.
MAINTAINING THE SHINE
All our pieces are crafted in 925 sterling silver and receive a final treatment to enhance their brightness and durability.
Even so, it’s important to keep in mind:
• Exposure to open air or water can accelerate the natural oxidation of silver.
• Avoid showering, sleeping or exercising while wearing your jewelry.
• Contact with perfumes, creams, chlorine or chemical products may alter the colour or finish.
If you notice that your piece has lost some of its shine, don’t worry: with the right cleaning routine, it will easily recover its original appearance.
CLEANING YOUR JEWELRY
To keep your jewelry looking bright, we recommend cleaning it regularly with a silver-cleaning product, available in most supermarkets and jewelry stores.
You can also use special silver polishing cloths impregnated with cleaner, ideal for restoring shine without damaging the surface. Any of these options will bring your pieces back to their original glow, as long as you rinse the product thoroughly with water and dry the jewelry completely afterwards.
If you prefer a gentler method, you can use warm water with mild soap and a soft-bristle brush to remove dirt.
💛 Important: Gold-plated pieces require more delicate care. Avoid silver-cleaning products (as they may damage the plating) and clean them only with warm water, mild soap and a very soft cloth, without rubbing too hard.
HOW TO STORE YOUR JEWELRY
Store your jewelry away from humidity and direct sunlight.
Ideally, keep each piece in its Atika velvet pouch or in a soft, padded box.
Avoid wooden boxes or metal containers, which can speed up tarnishing.
If you have multiple pieces, store them separately to prevent scratches.
Important Note
Gold-plated pieces are more delicate than solid sterling silver. Over time and with wear, the colour may gradually fade, especially if the jewelry is frequently exposed to perfumes or creams.
This light fading is not a defect but a natural behaviour of the material. To preserve the gold tone for longer, we recommend taking extra care with these pieces and keeping them dry whenever possible.
Every Atika jewel carries a story. Taking care of it is a way of extending it — and making it your own.
